Monday, 3/23

Today Todd made the journey from UCSD Medical Center to the Sherman Oaks Burn Center -- and he got to make the trip in the car!
He was evaluated by the medical staff there and they are pleased with the fact that the 3rd degree burns on his chest, shoulders and arms are healing nicely. This is great news.
The twice daily scrubbings continue to be horribly difficult -- barely helped by the morphine which then makes Todd feel very nauseous and out of it.

Please pray for peace for Todd. The "anticipated suffering" involved in recovery from burns is intense -- knowing that every day you will undergo torture in order to heal-- it can overwhelm. Psalm 91 is a great prayer to pray for Todd right now!

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day.

  1. Todd - I thought about you this past weekend as I hooked up solar panels at the cabin - and I was very, very careful. And I thought about you when it hailed and snowed on the porch you built for us at the cabin. And I thought about you when Shari and I looked at the "secret" spot on one of the coffee table legs. And most of all I thought of you when the fire jumped the rocks in the fire pit and started mini-fires that Shari and I had to run around and put out with water in the coffee pot. Todd - quit laughing. We love you - Jeff and Shari

Total distance about .9 miles)

    (2) We are living down south off the 405... about 18 miles south of the Hospital. We can accommodate family if anyone needs to spend the night. contact me at mjkemmerer@gmail.com

  3. Todd,
    You are a walking miracle! Man, God has plans for you and we are praying his grace will continue over these next days and weeks as you recover. I want you to know that I felt compelled to pray for you and PC several times last week before the accident. God is amazing!

    I hope you like the iPod mix...let me know what else you'd like and I'll fix it for you. Hope to see you Wednesday!

  5. Todd,
    It became clear why I can't sleep tonight when I saw your pic. My time can be put to better use praying for you. I'm really sorry for all the pain you are having to go through. I know it must really hurt because I've seen your high threshold of pain. God spared your life for a reason--praise him.

  6. Dude,

    Sue and I (the boys, too) continue to hold you up daily, hourly, minutely (I just invented that word). Bite the tongue depressor when it hurts, drink copius amounts of smoothies, listen to Tom Petty, do whatever it takes to endure...we need you back.

    PS...you get the mother of all hall passes from me for the rest of your life (no more rib poking).

    Love you brother...see you soon.
